I want to make a catalogue that I can put on cd’s and give out. I dont have much pc knowledge and I cant afford to spend a fortune. Is there an inexpensive way and easy way to create a catalog on cd’s? I am running windows vista and have microsoft office 2000 professional on my pc now.
I need this to be really easy because I am not really pc savy at all.
ok maybe i didnt say that this is a home run business. I make all the toys by hand so if i were to get a website I would by no means be able to make all of these in order to fill orders. We basically sell at bird shows and to bird stores around in our area. When we go to shows often times other stores want to know if we have a catalogue or a website. This is why we wanted to create a catalogue. We just thought it would be cheaper to put them on cd’s than to make actual color catalogues even if we just put them together with just plain old color copied pages put together in a binder.
We are asked all the time if we have a cataologue esp from pet stores that come to the shows we go to also people from out of state or further across state like to have a catalogue knowing we will ship to them.

You would be far better off with a website than saving your catalog on CD. You can do the catalog in Office 2000 but your customers would need the same version to read the documents. You could turn the catalog into PDFs but a website would let you make changes more easily. Start with a website for $10 a month (either prostores.com or the yahoo small business site). Start small, think big, and invest profits back into the business. You know your target market will be bird owners so get your website known to Vets, bird show attendees, word of mouth, etc.In addition to knowing your customers, know your competitors also. Once you get your website, start a blog for bird owners to show off their photos and have a central place for bird discussions. Don’t get too fancy with the site. Fancy just slows things down. You are a business person.
