I just found this little nest (nuthatch?) in my daughter’s open soccer bag in the garage. It’s nestled between her cleats!

The Piping Plover – An Endangered Bird in Nesting

 

The Piping Plovers were listed as an endangered species in Canada in 1985. In early August, the plovers will migrate back to their wintering grounds along the Gulf of Mexico. The main distinguishing features of the piping plovers than other plovers is its single, black neck and brow band. Most of plovers have double band. And the piping plover has a ‘dry sand’ coloured back.
