My parrot in his swimming pool. He’s a CAG–Congo African Grey. He’s twelve years old. Every so often he flips out for bathing in this crockery, with his beloved ice cubes (that’s the clanking sound). We’ve tried other sizes, but he prefers this one. I think it’s just big enough but not too big. Notice how he grabs the other size with his beak, to feel secure? I think he’s afraid he might ‘fall in’ otherwise. He’s not nearly so interested if we leave the ice cubes out. The crockery is a ceramic dog water dish we found on clearance sale. I thought the palm trees on the side were apt. Body language he’s having a great time: pupils pinning, happy tail wags, mantling his dish (MINE!).
